Women's Soccer Comes Up Short Against Loyola Marymount

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The UNLV women's soccer team lost its first game of the season Sunday, dropping a 1-0 decision at Loyola Marymount.

The lone goal was scored by LMU midfielder Julie Prunk at the 40:57 mark in the first half. UNLV had its best chance to score when sophomore midfielder Cristyn Enea fired a shot from inside the box, which was deflected by a LMU player who was covering the open goal.

The Rebels finished the weekend 1-1 after defeating Cal State Fullerton on Friday, 3-1 in Dan Abdalla's head coaching debut. Loyola Marymount (1-0) and ranked 9th in the West by Soccer Buzz, began its season today coming off a 13-6 record last season.

The Rebels travel to Utah for the Utah State Tournament next week. They will play Utah State on Thursday and conclude the tournament against Iowa on Saturday.
