USC Downs Men's Tennis

LOS ANGELES - The unranked UNLV men's tennis team lost 6-1 for the second straight day Friday, this time to 12th-ranked Southern Cal.

The Trojans opened play by sweeping doubles for one team point. USC's eighth-ranked duo of Ryan Moore and Nick Rainey outlasted UNLV's 21st-ranked team of Nenad Zivkovic and Gregor Skorin 9-8 at the top spot.

In singles, despite two other Rebels winning their first set, UNLV's only point came at No. 2 where Zivkovic rallied past Moore 4-6, 6-3, 7-6. UNLV fell to 0-2 while the Trojans opened the season by improving to 10-0 all-time vs. the Rebels.

UNLV is off until hosting its annual spring tournament Feb. 16-18 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
