LAS VEGAS - Constance Jinks scored 22 points and dished out a career-high eight assists to lead the UNLV women's basketball team to its fourth straight victory, 70-56 over UC Irvine at the Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday.

UNLV (10-2) saw an 11-point lead evaporate in the second half and allowed the Anteaters (8-6) to reclaim the lead, 49-48 with 5:27 left to play. However, a quick 7-0 run that spanned only 1:30 put the Rebels on top for good. Following a Jinks layup, Erin Johansson stole UCI's inbound pass, then fed Jinks underneath the basket for her second field goal in eight seconds. On UNLV's next trip down the court, Linda Fr?hlich buried the Rebels' first three-point goal of the game from the top of the key, putting her team up by eight.

UNLV held the Anteaters to just 37.9 percent from the floor, the third straight game that UNLV has kept its opponent under 40 percent, while shooting 52.8 percent from its own end of the floor. Four Lady Rebels climbed into double figures, including Jinks with 22, Fr?hlich with 17 to go with seven rebounds, and Petra Gl?ser and Kinesha Davis added 12 each. UCI was led by Maree Vincent's 16 points.

The win matches the Rebels' 10-2 start in 1993-94, their best in the last seven years. It was also the earliest in a season that a UNLV team has won its 10th game since the 1990-91 Rebels improved to 10-0 on Jan. 2 with a 64-54 win over Pacific.

The game was the final non-conference game of the season for UNLV, who kicks off conference play against No. 25 Utah on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 7:35 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
