LAS VEGAS - This one will definitely go down in history.

No other UNLV women's soccer team had accomplished this feat in the past three seasons of the four-year program, as the Rebels sent the visiting Utah Utes packing with a 2-1 victory Saturday night at Peter Johann Memorial Field in Las Vegas.

Only the second game in Mountain West Conference competition, both teams were hungry for a win after dropping the league opener on Thursday night with UNLV falling to BYU and Utah to San Diego State.

The Utes would get out in front first, taking advantage of a free kick offered up in the 29th minute. Utah senior Amy Kofoed earned her 39th career and all-time school record goal on the play to give the Utes a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Freshman Annii Magliulo wasted no time in the second half for the Rebels, putting away the tying goal in front of the net within 25 seconds of the tip. Each team tried to find a scoring opportunity thereafter with some close calls on both ends.

Heading into the 61st minute, Utah committed what would later become a costly foul for the Utes. Freshman Codi Schumaker put in the free kick off the right side with Magliulo quickly scurrying in front of goal to rebound the save, which found senior defender Robyn Krivacic on the attack for the game-winner at 61:23.

Senior goalie Alice Gleason earned her fifth win of the season with four saves. UNLV improves its record to 7-4-2 overall, 1-1 MWC, while Utah drops to 6-5 overall, 0-2 MWC.

The Rebels are on the road for their next three conference matches, one being against Air Force on Friday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. in Colorado Springs, Colo.
