COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Senior midfielder Anita Pedford registered two goals for four points in the UNLV women's soccer team's 3-2 loss to Mountain West Conference rival Air Force Friday afternoon at Cadet Soccer Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Pedford, a native of Ontario, Calif., currently stands first all-time in scoring (57 points), assists (15) and tied for most goals (21) with fellow senior teammate Janae Sims. She produced UNLV's two goals of the game, after completing a pass from freshman Annii Magliulo at the 31:14 minute mark and sliding in a shot off a corner kick at 49:26, to give the Rebels the 2-2 tie.
Air Force's Elaine Tatarek claimed the unassisted game-winning goal in the 67th minute to give the Falcons their first win of the season in Mountain West Conference play.
With the loss, the Rebels drop to 7-5-2 overall, 1-2-0 MWC, while Air Force improves to 6-7-1 overall, 1-1-0 MWC.
UNLV continues its weekend on the road with a final stop at the University of Wyoming on Sunday, Oct. 21 for a conference match slated for noon (MST) in Laramie, Wyo.
