Rebel Football Adds Two, Loses One

Dec. 20, 2001

LAS VEGAS - UNLV football has added two players as part of the early signing period that began Wednesday.

Keith Kincaid and Danny Jones both signed national letters of intent to play for the Rebels beginning in 2002. Each will enroll in school next month and take part in spring practice.

Kincaid (6-4, 285) is an offensive lineman transferring from Cal State Northridge, which disbanded its Div. I-AA football program after the season. The graduate of North High School in Riverside, Calif., will be a senior next fall and looks to break into the starting lineup for a blocking unit that lost four starters. Kincaid redshirted in 2001 with a shoulder injury but started every game of his first three years for the Matadors under former Rebel assistant Jeff Kearin.

Jones (5-10, 185) is a defensive back transferring from Fresno (Calif.) City College. He will be a junior next fall and will contend for a starting cornerback spot left vacant by the graduation of All-American cover man Kevin Thomas. Jones graduated from Edison High School in Fresno.

UNLV also announced that redshirt freshman offensive lineman Jimy Zoll has left the football program and will transfer from the school. The Santee, Calif., native saw limited time last season as a reserve tackle but was expected to compete for significant time next year as a sophomore.
