LAS VEGAS - Four players scored in double figures as the UNLV women's basketball team defeated Air Force, 73-47, at the Thomas & Mack Center on Thursday.
Linda Fr?hlich led the way with 22 points and six rebounds, netting 18 of her points in the first half. Constance Jinks added 14 and Kinesha Davis scored 13 while Dayna Gambill tallied the night's only double-double with 12 points and 10 assists against just one turnover.
After four ties and five lead changes through the first 9:30 of the game, the Lady Rebels (15-7, 5-5) rolled off a 20-0 run and never looked back. A last-second put back by Dishawn McCracklin at the end of the first half put UNLV up 48-23 at the break.
The Rebels led by as many as 37 in the second half before both teams went to the bench. Air Force (3-19, 0-9) rallied late with an 11-3 run to end the game, cutting the margin of victory to 26.
The victory stops a two-game losing streak by UNLV, who plays host to New Mexico on Saturday, Feb. 17 in a battle for fourth place in the Mountain West Conference standings. Tip is set for 7:35 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
