The Lady Rebels (14-6, 4-4) closed the Cougars' (13-8, 5-3) lead to three, 82-79, with only 1:13 left to play. However, BYU stayed at least two possessions ahead, forcing the Rebels to foul. Kinesha Davis led UNLV on the night, scoring 21 and going 4-for-4 from three-point range. Linda Fr?hlich scored 14 and grabbed a season-high 18 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the year. The 18 rebounds was the most by any player in a single game in the Mountain West Conference this season.
Constance Jinks added 20 and Dayna Gambill scored 14 to round out those Rebels in double figures. The Cougars' Erin Thorn led all scorers with 25 points.
UNLV will complete its road trip in Salt Lake City on Saturday, Feb. 10, when it plays at 17th-ranked Utah at the Huntsman Center at 2:00 p.m. PST. The Utes remained unbeaten in MWC play with a 62-45 victory over San Diego State on Thursday.
