TUCSON, Ariz. - A four-goal second half charged host Arizona to a 4-1 come-from-behind victory over the UNLV women's soccer team Sunday afternoon at Murphey Stadium in Tucson, Ariz.
Freshman forward Annii Magliulo scored five minutes into the match off an assist from fellow freshman Codi Schumaker, marking her first collegiate goal as a Rebel. UNLV's 1-0 lead from Magliulo's goal would sustain into the 47th minute, until Arizona's Candice Wilks scored 5-yards out from a serve from the right side by teammate Cassie Daniels to tie up the game at one apiece.
The Wildcats continued their scoring arsenal at the 56:57 minute mark from Liz Bartlett, 74:07 from Wilks off a double assist and with 30 seconds left in regulation from Katie Winship, to give them the comeback win.
Senior Alice Gleason registered six saves in goal. Arizona improves to 3-1-1, while UNLV drops to 2-3-2.
The Rebels next host the UNLV/FILA Tournament at Peter Johann Memorial Field this weekend with Northern Arizona, Utah State and Cal Poly SLO making up the four-team tournament field. The Rebels face Cal Poly SLO on Friday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m., after a matchup between NAU and Utah State at 5 p.m.
