Sept. 5, 2001

LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's golf head coach Kelley Hester has named Jill Faircloth as her assistant coach, it was announced Thursday.

Faircloth will assist Hester in the daily operations of the program, including coordinating fundraising events and recruiting, assisting with academic advising and compliance with NCAA policy, scheduling and monitoring the team's budget.

"I am excited to have Jill on board here at UNLV," Hester said. "It will be nice to have someone take over the daily operations of running the program, which will allow me to concentrate on coaching."

A native of Macon, Ga., Faircloth studied exercise science at Valdosta State University and brings a year of experience as a physical therapy assistant at the Piedmont Sports Medicine Complex, helping rehabilitate athletes.

The Rebels begin their first season of competition on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
