Despite Sunday's tough round, UNLV still managed to beat six of the nation's top 50 teams head-to-head, including eighth-ranked host Tennessee. Auburn scorched the course in the final round, producing the best team round of the tournament at 292 to capture the victory.
The hero for the Rebels throughout the event was freshman Sunny Oh, whose consistent play earned her a first career top-10 finish. She held down fifth place from wire-to-wire, and finished only three strokes behind medalist Ashley Prange of North Carolina.
Hwanhee Lee earned a second consecutive top-20 showing, tying for 18th place. Teammate Christine Hentzner tied for 21st, one stroke behind.
Matching 84s from Elena Kurokawa and Young Pak rounded out the Rebels' final-round scoring. Kurokawa tied for 59th individually, and Pak placed 75th.
UNLV has just one event left on its fall schedule, the inaugural Las Vegas Founders Women's Collegiate Showdown. The 54-hole event is slated for Nov. 11-13 at Anthem Country Club.
