Moderator: (11:00 AM ET ) UNLV senior All-America candidate Linda Fr?hlich will be joining us shortly, please continue to use the form below to submit your questions.
Charlet (Fallbrook,CA): Do you plan on entering the WNBA draft? If so, what team do you hope you go to?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:11 AM ET ) Yes, I do plan on entering the draft and would love to stay on the west coast because I am familiar with it. But I'd be happy playing for anyone.
Jackson (Alta Loma): How have your friends in America supported you during your UNLV career?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:12 AM ET ) I started to go to church my sophomore year. My friends have helped me spiritually. People and friends in Las Vegas have shown me a lot of support through both good and bad times.
Kim (Sacramento): Do you think you've been overlooked by a lot of people because you don't play in one of the more well-known conferences?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:13 AM ET ) I think the top 25 team players do get more national recognition. UNLV has done a great job of marketing me and the Lady Rebels. I think nationally people do overlook the MWC and its players but hopefully that will change since the league is getting better and better.
Tina (Pahrump): Hi Linda. What do you think you will miss most about being a Lady Rebel? P.S. Will you tell Casey hi for me Please.
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:14 AM ET ) Las Vegas was the first real American basketball experience for me. I will miss Las Vegas a lot and being a Rebel.
Bill (Las Vegas): As you prepare for the conference tourney, which team will give you the most trouble and how do you plan to combat that team?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:16 AM ET ) We will give ourselves the most trouble. We've shown we can beat anyone and if we play to our capabilities we can beat anyone.
Brent (Atlanta): Why do you wear No. 13?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:17 AM ET ) I wear No. 13 because in Germany we only have numbers from 4-15 and usually the smaller people wear the smaller numbers. I've always been one of the bigger players so I started wearing No. 13 and have continued to wear it as it has been good luck for me.
Lady Rebel Lover (Las Vegas): Linda, what was your impression of the billboard with your picture that UNLV put up and what was the purpose behind it?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:18 AM ET ) I was overwhelmed. Coming from a little village in Germany we don't even have billboards that big. It was put up to give the Lady Rebels more recognition in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas: Do you think the Lady Rebels will make the NCAA tournament this season? How far can the team go?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:19 AM ET ) I do think we're going to make the NCAA Tournament. I wish we could go all the way but my focus at this moment is winning the MWC Tournament and then we'll see what is going to happen.
Patrick (Chicago): Congratulations on a great college basketball career. What has it been like to play in Las Vegas at UNLV? Do you feel there are any skills you need to improve as you head towards the WNBA?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:21 AM ET ) I enjoy the reputation of the city as an entertainment, 24/7 city. As a student-athlete you can plan your free time, any time because the city is open 24 hours.
I need to improve my defense and mental game to go to the next level.
regina's lover (Las Vegas): What is your least favorite thing about America?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:22 AM ET ) I can only talk for Las Vegas as it's my perception of America. I'd say the lack of trees and I'm living in the desert.
Carl (Albuquerque): What team do you think is the toughest to play against in the MWC?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:23 AM ET ) BYU because we have not beaten them this season but we have another chance against them tomorrow.
Regina (Las Vegas): Do you ever second guess yourself about your decision to attend UNLV, a program that had won only 12 games in three years before you got there?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:25 AM ET ) No. A lot of people ask me that question actually. I think if you second guess things you won't enjoy living. It could have been better somewhere else but it could have also been worse. I am glad with the decision I made.
William: How has Coach Miller helped you develop for the next level both on and off the court?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:26 AM ET ) Coach Miller challenges me every day in practice to become a better person off and on the court. The expectations she has for me makes me a better all around person. Her belief in me gives me the confidence to keep going hard.
Sternvogel (Lafayette, IN): Since I've never been to Germany, but hope to visit some day, I'm wondering what two or three sights you'd want me to be sure to see in your homeland? Good luck in the Mountain West tournament. Hope UNLV plays at Purdue if the Rebels make the NCAA field!
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:28 AM ET ) I'd say Cologne, Dom, Reeperbahn and Munich.
Jordan (Albuquerque): Who is the toughest player in the conference?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:30 AM ET ) Tough question. I look at everything from a team perspective. I'd say BYU is the toughest team.
Amber (Chico): Do you feel that practice team players help you or hurt when it comes preparing for games?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:32 AM ET ) They absolutely help. Our practice team has been fabulous. They are quick, know the other teams offense/defense and are very helpful. We have men and women practice players and they are fun to play against and are a great help in preparing for games.
Ashley (Los Angeles): How do you feel about guy practice players for women basketball teams?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:34 AM ET ) I played against men back home in Germany. I think they are very helpful. Men most of the time show you certain types of limits and what you need to work on because they are physically stronger that also makes them a great partner to play against.
Jean (Oswego): I am looking forward to seeing you play in the tournament. Are you planning to remain in the United States or are do you want to go back to Germany?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:36 AM ET ) From an academic perspective, I would probably have to stay in the USA to get my doctorate in Psychology. I love America but haven't made up my mind yet. My family, which is a big part of my life, is in Germany so if they won't be able to come here I probably will have to go back.
VAIL: LINDA, YOUR SHOT IS SO FRESH AND SO CLEAN! YOUR FORM IS PERFECT. HAS YOUR MACHINE (SHOT) ALWAYS LOOKED SO NICE. I AM SURE YOU HAVE PRACTICED ON MANY COURTS, IS THERE ONE OR TWO COURTS THAT STAND OUT IN YOUR MIND AS BEING THE MOST SPIRITUAL AND UPLIFTING COURTS, WHERE YOU FELT LIKE, THIS IS WHY I PLAY. AND THE GRASS COURT IN YOUR TOWN DOES NOT COUNT. ALTHOUGH THAT IS SOMETHING STRAIT OUT OF HOOSIERVILLE, AND I WOULD LOVE TO PLAY YOU ONE ON ONE BACK IN OLDENDORF! BEST OF LUCK THIS WEEK AND THE WEEKS TO FOLLOW HOPEFULLY ALL THE WAY THROUGH UNTIL APRIL! JUST A FELLOW HOOPER WITH ADMIRATION, JON JON
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:42 AM ET ) Albuquerque, New Mexico. It's overwhelming to see all the people come out to watch women's basketball. Fort Collins as well because their fans are very dedicated.
From the very beginning my mother has always told me to shoot the ball with good technique. Ewald Schauer was my shooting coach back in Germany. He did a tremendous job of breaking down my shot and making it perfect or as perfect as possible. But I also had a great rebounder, Jon Hansen, you may or may not know him.
BARRY (LOBO FAN): WHAT DO THINK IS THE REASON YOUR TEAM HAS HAD SUCH SUCCESS AGAINST UNM, AND DO YOU THINK AS I DO THAT BOTH UNLV & UNM ARE BEING IGNORED FOR TOP 25 CONSIDERATION. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, GO LOBOS!
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:46 AM ET ) I think we match up well against New Mexico. For some reason we always play well against the Lobos. We should be in top 25 but it seems kind of hard for west coast schools to get ranked. The polls are political. There are people who vote that have probably never seen certain teams play, including New Mexico and UNLV. We do deserve it but it's not that big of a deal.
regina's lover (Las Vegas): Do you think you will have a tough adjustment playing at the next level where you aren't so much naturally better than all the players around you?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:48 AM ET ) I think with my work ethic it is going to be hard playing with players at the next level but not impossible. With the great coaching at the next level I think I'll get adjusted to it sooner rather than later.
Carl (Albuquerque): How many teams from the MWC do you think deserve to go to the Big Dance aside from just the automatic bid for the tourney champion?
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:51 AM ET ) I think three because the Mountain West has proven we have great competition within the league. CSU is ranked No. 16 and everyone in the league has proven they can play with them.
Linda Fr?hlich: (11:51 AM ET ) Thanks for all the great questions, gotta run
