LAS VEGAS - UNLV's Paulina Janus has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Thursday.

It marked the second time the junior had earned the honor in her career.

A native of Warsaw, Poland, Janus improved to 8-4 in singles this season by sweeping her three matches at No. 1 singles over the weekend. She did not lose a set in downing opponents from Nevada, Reno, New Mexico State and Weber State. She also went 2-1 in doubles play at the No. 1 position with Aga Abram.

Ranked 59th in the nation, Janus will next be in action Feb. 15 when the 56th-ranked Lady Rebels (3-0) travel to top-ranked Stanford.
