The two-day, 54-hole competition features two rounds on Monday, March 25 at the Austin Country Club (Par 72--6,906 Yards) and a final 18 to be played on Tuesday, March 26. ABOUT UNLV: The Rebels are coming off their best tournament of the season, a second-place finish at home in the Las Vegas Collegiate. Both Ryan Moore and Brett Foulds finished in the top five individually, and senior Clark Corbett tied for 12th overall. Brien Davis, playing as an individual, also notched a 12th-place finish. It was the most Rebels to finish in the top 20 since all five players crowded the top 10 of the 2000 Mountain West Conference Championships. The second-place effort comes on the heels of a fourth-place finish at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Honolulu at the end of February.
THE FIELD: The Morris Williams Intercollegiate features 15 of the West's talents. Texas hosts: BYU, Fresno State, Houston, New Mexico, North Florida, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Pepperdine, Southern California, SMU, Texas A&M, TCU and UNLV.
THE LINEUP: UNLV's lineup for the Las Vegas Collegiate will be Brandon Askew, Clark Corbett, J.C. Deacon, Brian Davis and Ryan Moore.
HEAD COACH DWAINE KNIGHT: UNLV men's golf head coach Dwaine Knight is in his 15th season as the Rebels' skipper. During his tenure, UNLV has been a perennial power with five league championships, 12 NCAA Championship appearances, and the 1998 national title. The only coach in the country to twice claim GCAA National Coach of the Year honors in the 1990s (1991 and 1998), Knight has produced 15 All-Americans and sent four players to the PGA Tour (Jeremy Anderson, Chad Campbell, Ed Fryatt, Chris Riley).
