AUSTIN, Texas - Battling heavy winds and rain, the UNLV men's golf team shot a first-round 314 and was unable to complete its scheduled second round of play at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate on Monday.
Through one round, the Rebels sit in 14th place in the 15-team field at 26 strokes over par. BYU leads the event at one-over.
Despite the harsh conditions, freshman Ryan Moore was able to salvage a fair round, carding a three-over 75 at the Austin Country Club. He is seven shots behind SMU's Brock Mulder, who set the pace at four-under.
Senior Clark Corbett followed Moore in the lineup with a 77 while Brandon Askew, J.C. Deacon and Brien Davis fired matching 81s.
The Rebels completed as many as 14 holes of their scheduled second round before play was suspended due to darkness. They will resume second-round play at 7:00 a.m. CST on Tuesday before proceeding directly into the final round.
