AUSTIN, Texas - With a final-round 322, the UNLV women's golf team climbed two places to finish 12th at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational on Tuesday.

The Rebels (340-328-322-990) played 27 holes for the day, finishing play of Monday's suspended second round before completing the final 18. Cold weather and wind plagued play throughout the day, yet unlike the previous day, the rain stayed away.

Behind its improved play, UNLV moved past both Texas Tech (336-327-331-994) and SMU (337-338-331-1006) in the team standings, but finished 70 strokes behind tourney champ Duke (297-319-304-920). Texas' Janice Olivencia (68-75-75-218) led from wire-to-wire and won by five shots.

Leading the Rebels' efforts in Austin was Hwanhee Lee (83-82-75-240), who rebounded after struggling with the weather in the first day to shoot a final-round 75 and tie for 28th place overall.

Tina Mabanta (83-81-79-243) also improved her play over the course of 54 holes to finish tied for 34th.

Junior Erin Borcherts (87-87-79) trimmed eight strokes off her best round in the final to climb to 62nd place overall.

Rounding out the Rebels' lineup were Autumn Monteiro (87-82-89-258) and Christine Hentzner (89-83-91-263), finishing 70th and 74th respectively.

The Rebels get two weeks of rest before heading to northern California to compete in the Peg Barnard Collegiate hosted by Stanford on April 13-14.
