Amber Chen and freshman
Lana Yamagata each shot a final-round 4-under 68 Wednesday to help UNLV women's golf close the regular season with at top-5 finish at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club (Par 72, 6,212 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: Chen's scorecard gave her a top-3 finish with a career-low tournament score of 10-under 206 a day after she tied a program-record low round (-8). Adding another Rebel top-25 finish, Yamagata tied for 25th at 3-over 219. Behind the duo's scores, UNLV shot a final-round 4-under 284 as a team to lock in a tied-for-fourth finish at 2-over 866 for the tournament.
Rounding out the lineup, freshman
Demi Du (+6) tied for 44th, junior
Zi Yu Foong (+8) placed 54th and junior
Jane Huang (+19) tied for 90th. Competing as an individual, freshman
Yen Liu (+13) wrapped up play in 76th.
CHAMPIONS: Iowa State never relinquished the lead on the way to the team title at 26-under 838. Earning individual medalist honors, the Cyclones' Nichakorn Pinprayoon shot a 17-under 199 through 54 holes.
UP NEXT: UNLV will look to defend its conference title at the Mountain West Championship in just under two weeks at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, from April 21-23.
NOTES:
- The Rebels' performance at the Cowgirl Classic marked their fourth top-5 finish of the 2025-26 campaign as well as their second consecutive top-5 outing.
- Amber Chen finished in the top 3 for the second straight tournament while also logging her third top-10 effort on the season.
