COLUMBUS, Ohio - The UNLV men's golf team earned its first team victory in almost two years Sunday after the final round of the Kepler Intercollegiate was canceled due to heavy rains.
The Rebels (288-288-576) led after both the first and second rounds, shooting eight-over on the par-71 Scarlet Course. Their three-stroke lead over Colorado heading into Sunday's scheduled finale held up, giving the squad its first team victory since rolling to a 23-stroke win at the 2000 Mountain West Conference Championship.
The Kepler marked the end of the regular season for the Rebels, who head to Sunriver, Ore., to compete in the Mountain West Conference Championship on April 29-May 1.
