WASHINGTON, Mich. - Ryan Moore's busy summer of golf hit another peak on Friday as the Rebels' sophomore-to-be defeated Michigan State's Casey Lubahn 2 up in the quarterfinals and Lamar's Chris Stroud in the semifinals of the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship.
Moore advances to Saturday's 36-hole final where he will square off against Lee Williamson, Purdue's Big Ten Player of the Year.
Already having played the U.S. Open this summer, the Public Links' final is an impressive addition to Moore's growing resume. But the real prize is an invitation to next year's Masters for the winner.
Moore was dominant in the semifinal match, hitting every fairway, recording seven birdies and firing a course-record equivalent 65 at The Orchards Golf Club.
