ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Freshmen Elena Kurokawa and Sunny Oh led the UNLV women's golf team to a second-round score of 315 at the Dick McGuire Invitational on Friday.
Just a day removed from its collegiate debut, the duo turned in rounds of 77 and 78, respectively, at the par-73, 6, 069-yard Championship Course. At 11-over par for the tourney, Oh sits tied for 49th. Kurokawa is tied for 54th, a single stroke behind.
Hwanhee Lee is still the Rebels' overall leader, but slipped after an opening-round 71. The sophomore star shot 81 on Friday, falling from fourth place on the individual leaderboard to 22nd.
Christine Hentzner maintained her position in the lineup, following her opening 77 with a 79 on Friday. She is tied for 42nd, 10-over par. Erin Borcherts rounds out the lineup, adding an 84 to Thursday's 85.
Those scores total seven more than the Rebels' opening round figures and caused the group to drop from ninth place to 10th in the 19-team field.
UNLV will try to improve that score in Saturday's final round, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. MDT.
