TEMPE, Ariz. - UNLV has one singles player alive in the consolation draw after the second day of the ASU Thunderbirds Women's Tennis Invitational at the Whiteman Tennis Center Saturday.

Anne Claire Ortiz Luis won twice to advance to Sunday's consolation final. She defeated Paulina Castillejos of Kansas State 6-0, 7-5 and then downed Blair DiSesa of Rice 6-4, 6-4.

UNLV's Gyorgyi Zsiros lost to Sabrina Capannolo of Arizona State and Claire Smith was knocked out by DiSesa earlier in the day 3-6, 6-1, 6-0.

Also, the doubles team of Smith and Ortiz Luis won its match to stay alive in the consolation draw.
