TUCSON, Ariz. - The UNLV women's golf team shot a final-round 312 and was unable to improve its position at the Wildcat Invitational on Wednesday.
The Rebels finished 11th in the 18-team field, 57 strokes behind team champ Pepperdine.
Individually, freshman Elena Kurokawa closed out the best performance of her career with a three-over 74 on Wednesday, tying for 15th overall at 10-over par.
Sophomore Hwanhee Lee and freshman Young Pak both contributed 79s to the Rebs' daily total. Lee finished 21-over par and tied for 50th while Pak tied for 76th at 31-over.
Sunny Oh rounded out the Rebels' team round, scoring 80 for the day. At 25-over, she finished tied for 63rd. Tina Mabanta's final-round 84 did not count toward the team score, but put her into a tie for 73rd at 30-over.
Arizona's Erica Blasberg won the even on her home course, firing the only sub-par score of the tourney. She dropped from even par to three-under after a final-round 68.
The Rebels return to the road next week to compete in the Spartan Invitational in Salinas, Calif., hosted by San Jose State March 4-6.
