SUNRIVER, Ore. - The UNLV women's golf team maintained its 12-stroke lead and shot a final-round 313 to win the Northwest Invite by 12 strokes over TCU at Woodlands Golf Course on Tuesday.

Battling cold and rainy conditions, the 20th-ranked Rebels won for just the second time in the program's history, and placed three individuals in the top 10.

"Our goal was to win this tournament, and we did, so I am pleased about that," UNLV women's golf head coach Missy Ringler said. "However, we have to do a better job in the final round, especially with a lead."

Sophomore Sunny Oh held a share of the lead after 36 holes, but slipped off the pace with a final-round 80. However, the Rebels' All-American tied for third at eight-over par.

Medalist honors went to TCU's Brooke Tull, who was tied with Oh at even par heading into Tuesday's play.

The Rebels' low scorer in the final round was junior Hwanhee Lee, who climbed to fifth place individually after shooting 74 and finished at nine-over for the tourney.

Freshman Seema Sadekar, playing in her first event as a collegian, also struggled in the final round, carding an 82 to slip to 13-over par. That was good for an eighth-place finish.

"It was great to see Hwanhee have a great tournament and see Seema make a strong showing in her collegiate debut," Ringler said.

Rounding out the Rebels' team score in the final round was sophomore Elena Kurokawa, who shot 77 and finished tied for 21st place at 18-over par. Young Pak shot an 84 which did not count toward the team total, and she finished tied for 30th place at 21-over par.

"I have said all along that everyone in our lineup can contribute and one of our strengths is our depth and that showed this week - everyone contributed this week."

The Rebels next head to Albuquerque, N.M., to compete in the prestigious Dick McGuire Invitational on Sept. 25-26.
