Sept. 27, 2003

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Even par was a good enough finish to earn UNLV sophomore Sunny Oh a sixth-place individual finish at the Dick McGuire Invitational on Saturday.

Oh (72-73-74-219) carded a final-round 74 at the par-73, 6,069-yard Championship Course to move to even for the tournament.

Her strong play powered the UNLV women's golf team to a tie for seventh place in the team standings. The Rebels shot 314 in the final round to finish at 51-over for the tournament, a distant 56 strokes behind host and champion New Mexico.

The Lobos also garnered the individual honors as Kailin Downs led the tournament from wire to wire and won by three strokes at seven-under par.

Following Oh on the leaderboard for the Rebels were freshman Seema Sadekar (26th, 71-78-79-228), Hwanhee Lee (T62nd, 85-76-80-241), Young Pak (T67th, 82-79-82-243) and Elena Kurokawa (T70th, 82-81-81-244). Christine Hentzner (84-77-81-242) finished tied for 65th, playing as an individual.
