ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - UNLV senior golfer Ryan Moore shot a final-round 7-under-par 65 at the William H. Tucker Invitational on Saturday to earn the individual title. Moore's 65 was the low round of the day and tied for the low score of the tournament, which was played at the par 72, 7,354-yard Championship Course at the University of New Mexico.
Moore, who was tied with New Mexico's Spencer Levin for first at 10-under through 15 holes during the final round, birdied the 18th hole for the two-shot win. Moore (71-69-65--205), who headed into the final round of the tournament tied for fifth, finished 11-under. Levin (71-65-71--207) bogeyed 16 during the final round, paving the way for Moore.
As a team, UNLV (291-286-286--863) finished in third place at 1-under, eight shots behind team champion Arizona (279-284-292--855). New Mexico (286-283-288--857) finished second at 7-under. Texas Tech (291-292-281--864) and Texas A&M (289-291-286--866) rounded out the top five.
Other Rebel competitors were: Andres Gonzales (T8; 68-74-72--214), Jarred Texter (T33; 75-71-75--221), Travis Whisman (T46; 77-72-74--223), Casey Fowles (T89; 77-76-81--234) and Troy Denton (T96; 79-80-80--239), who competed as an individual.
