LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's golf team will be in action this weekend at the Nelson Invitational at the Stanford Golf Course (par 69, 6,444 yards) in Palo Alto, Calif.
UNLV, which is competing in its third tournament of the year, will be joined in the field by host Stanford, Colorado, Colorado State, Texas-Pan American, Idaho, Florida Southern, Notre Dame, Kansas, Northern Colorado, West Florida, Georgia State, Kansas State, UC Davis, New Mexico and Missouri.
Competing for the Rebels will be Ryan Moore, Travis Whisman, Jarred Texter, Sam Hunt and Matt Kinsinger.
Duke, which won the 2003 Nelson team title is not in this year's field. Ryan Blaum of Duke was last year's individual medallist. The Rebels did not play in this tournament last year.
Teams comprised of five individuals will play 18 holes each day (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) with the four low scores each day counting toward the team score.
Tee times begin at 8 a.m. PDT each day.
