TUCSON, Ariz. - The UNLV women's golf team maintained its position after the second round of play at the Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday, trimming 11 strokes off its opening-round total for a team round of 295.

The Rebels are in fifth place at 33-over par and check in higher on the leaderboard than three top-25 teams, including host and third-ranked Arizona.

Vanderbilt took command of the tourney on Tuesday, shooting a daily best 289 to overtake Ohio State atop the standings. The Commodores are only 11-over par heading into Wednesday's final round.

Individually, three players share the lead at two-under par: Vanderbilt's May Wood, Ohio State' Allison Hanna and California's Sophia Sheridan.

Kurokawa wasn't the only Rebel to work around the course in 72 strokes. Hwanhee Lee rebounded from a tough opening-round of 82, trimming 10 shots off her daily total. Lee moved into a tie for 31st overall at 12-over.

Sunny Oh is poised for a top-20 finish after shooting 74. She is tied for 17th at eight-over par.
