April 13, 2004

NORMAN, Okla. - UNLV junior golfer Ryan Moore has once again been chosen to compete for the United States team at the Palmer Cup presented by Monster, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced today.

The Palmer Cup, named for golfing legend Arnold Palmer, is a Ryder Cup-style competition that will be played at the Ballybunion Golf Club in County Kerry, Ireland, on Aug. 6-7. Moore, along with Clemson's Jack Ferguson and Lamar's Chris Stroud, joins five others to complete the U.S. roster for coach Larry Penley of Clemson.

Moore, of Puyallup, Wash., is currently ranked fourth nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index. He is on the watch list for the prestigious Hogan Award and leads the Mountain West Conference with a 69.96 scoring average.

Moore also played in last year's Palmer Cup, posting a 1-2-1 mark. His selection marks the seventh time overall that UNLV has been represented on the U.S. squad.

The U.S. leads Great Britain & Ireland, 4-2-1 in the all-time Palmer Cup series, which dates back to 1997.
