ST GEORGE, Utah - UNLV grabbed the first round lead with a score of 320 (+32) before a rain storm cancelled the second round and the Rebels have a ten-stroke lead heading into Tuesday's final round at the BYU Dixie Classic.
Teams were originally scheduled to play two rounds Monday, but a severe rain storm with winds gusting up to 50 mph forced the second round to be cancelled. Teams will play another 18 holes Tuesday and the classic will be a 36-hole tournament. UNLV is attempting to win its third-straight BYU Dixie championship.
Leading the tournament is UNLV senior Hwanhee Lee, who shot a 75 (+3) on the par-72, 6,151-yard Entrada Golf Club at Snow Canyon. She carded two birdies in her opening round and was one of five Rebels in the top 25.
Seema Sadekar is tied for third after shooting a 76 (+6) in the opening round. Joining her and Lee in the top 10 was Christine Hentzner, who opened with a three-over 79. Hentzner's total does not count toward UNLV's team score however since she is playing like an individual.
Elena Kurokawa, the reigning Mountain West Conference player of the month, shot a 82 (+10) and is in a tie for 15th.
Tina Mabanta, another player playing as an individual for the Rebels, is in a tie for 22nd with an 83 (+11). Young Pak is tied for 36th (85, +13) and Allison Chell is tied for 51st (88, +16).
Arkansas and Portland State are tied for second with 330 (+42), Boise State is in fourth 332 and BYU is in fifth with a score of 333.
Tuesday's final round will be a shotgun start at 7:00 a.m. (PT).
