Miklos Set For Saturday's All-American Classic

Jan. 10, 2006

LAS VEGAS - Safety Joe Miklos will be UNLV's representative in this weekend's Findlay Toyota Las Vegas All-American Classic, the school announced Tuesday.

The fifth annual college football all-star game, which will take place at Sam Boyd Stadium, is set to begin Saturday at 1:30 p.m. PT. Tickets are available now by logging on to unlvtickets.com.

Miklos was a Second Team All-Mountain West Conference selection after his senior year in 2005. The native of Concord, Calif., led the MWC with four fumble recoveries, which ranked fifth in school history, and was third in the league for total tackles with a career-high 98. He also paced the Rebels with two interceptions, which gave him six for his career. One of four team captains, Miklos wore the prestigious Wiesner Award patch on his jersey last fall.

Miklos will become the 16th Rebel to ever appear in the All-American Classic, which was formerly called the Paradise Bowl when it was staged in St. George, Utah, in 2002-03. He will be joined on the West Team by nine players from five other MWC schools (Colorado State, Wyoming, BYU, New Mexico and San Diego State).
