UNLV Underway In Washington

UNLV women's golf finished the opening round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in 13th on Monday after a difficult scoring day at the Sahalee Country Club course.

The Rebels shot 30 strokes over par for a team score of 318 as no team and just four individuals finished even par or better on the par 72 course that played 6,130 yards.

Arizona State has the opening round lead with a team score of 299 (+11), two strokes in front of both New Mexico and Arizona. Mari Chun of Stanford is the individual leader after 18 holes, carding a four-under 68 to lead by one over Amy Eneroth of Washington State.

Rebel senior Seema Sadekar paced the team on Monday, rolling in two birdies in a four-over round of 76 that has her tied for 19th on the leaderboard. Natasha Krishna's three birdies were the most for a Rebel golfer on the day, but the freshman had an up-and-down round and is tied for 44th with a score of 80 (+8).

Da Sol Chung fired one of the worst rounds of her young career, carding a nine-over 81 on the afternoon and is currently tied for 52nd. Kristin Ingram also shot an 81 and is in the group with Chung while Kasi Lee rounded out the Rebels with an 88 (+16) and is tied for 75th.
