WOMEN'S PREVIEW
The UNLV women's swimming and diving team will split up with the diving team going to Provo, Utah, for the BYU Diving Invite while the swimmers will travel to Austin, Texas, for the Texas Invite. The women taking the trip to Texas will be Marina Sandback, Kim Bonney, Katie Wronn, Bailey Kuestermeyer and Marva Harpak. The relay team along with freestyle group will look for a good performance, along with Kuestermeyer, who has stood out in the breast and fly events.
MEN'S PREVIEW
The UNLV men will look to continue their success this weekend as they travel to the Texas Invite in Austin, Texas. The men's roster will be comprised of Brandon Nelms, Richard Hortness, Tiger Christian, Devin Phillips, Johan Claar, John Byers, Eric Culberson, Tamas Bosnyak, Johan Andersson, Daniel Egly and Adrian Law. The Rebels are looking to best their times and hopefully provisionally qualify for the national meet later in the season. The men will be paced by their outstanding free group, led by Nelms and Hortness in the sprints, with Claar taking care of the distance free events.
Rebels Break Top 25, Currently Ranked No. 23
UNLV has cracked the top 25 in the collegeswimming.com poll released recently, coming in at No. 23 among D-1 schools. UNLV was the only new team in the rankings this week as the Rebel men's swimming and diving team got its recognition from defeating both Beehive State schools in Utah and BYU, and losing a close meet to Arizona State, who is No. 21 in the current poll, in the season opener. UNLV and BYU (No. 24) are the only Mountain West schools represented, while the Big Ten leads all conferences with six ranked teams. Auburn holds down the top spot with 300 points, with Texas
