LAS VEGAS - UNLV freshman Natasha Krishna has been selected the Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for November. This is the second award this week for Krishna, who was named Golfweek's Player of the Week on Monday.
The Auckland, New Zealand, native won medalist honors at the Aloha Purdue Collegiate Invitational, shooting a final-round 69 (-1) on the par-70, 6,885-yard Kiahuna Golf Course to carry her to the title. Overall, she carded a 212 (+2), opening the tournament with rounds of 72 (+2) and 71 (+1) through 36 holes. The tournament marked the first medalist honors for Krishna, who played in just the fifth collegiate tournament of her career.
She started her month by finishing tied for 32nd at the Las Vegas Founders Showdown, shooting a combined score of 223 (+7). On the season, Krishna ranks fifth in the MWC with a 74.4 stroke average.
The invitational was the last fall tournament for Krishna and the Rebels, who will resume play in the spring at the Wildcat Invitational on Feb. 26-27 in Tucson, Ariz.
