The UNLV women's basketball team returns to action on Wednesday night at San Diego State at 7 pm in the Cox Arena.

The Lady Rebels are coming off a pair of tough losses, the first a three-point loss at Wyoming on Feb. 4 after losing senior forward Sherry McCracklin to a concussion in the final minutes. Playing their next game without McCracklin, who is out indefintely, UNLV almost pulled off a big upset at home, but 18th-ranked BYU broke a tie game with a three-pointer with 20 seconds to go and escaped with a 55-51 win on Feb. 11 in Las Vegas.

Now having lost back-to-back games for the first time this season, UNLV (13-8 overall, 5-5 MWC) looks to get back on the winning side Wednesday night against San Diego State (3-18 overall), a team that has struggled in conference this year, with an 0-11 MWC mark. In fact, the Aztecs have lost nine of their last 11 games by 10 points or more and have scored over 60 points just twice in league play as well. Their last two games were a 29-point loss at Air Force and a 35-point setback at Utah. The Lady Rebels meanwhile are 12-1 when scoring 60 points or more, but have also been doing the job defensively, holding their last eight opponents to 62 points or less.

Formerly the MWC's top offense, UNLV now is at the top of the league in several defensive categories. The Lady Rebels are currently leading the conference in blocks (4.52 bpg), are second in steals (10.10 spg) and third in field goal defense (37.9%) and rebound margin (+4.9).

With their win over TCU on Feb. 2, the Lady Rebels are just two wins away from their 600th win in program history, a mark only 34 schools have reached in NCAA history.
