Feb. 28, 2006

LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's golf team moved back into the top 10 in two of collegiate golf's polls after the Rebels finished sixth last week at the Wildcat Invitational, marking the first time that the Rebels have been ranked in the top 10 this late in the season.

UNLV was ranked No. 9 by Golfstat and No. 10 by Golfweek in the latest polls released this week. The Rebels' highest ranking in program history was No. 8 by Golfweek, which they reached last fall on Sept. 30, 2005.

Da Sol Chung was ranked 12th in the country individually this week by Golfweek following her third-place finish at the Wildcat Invitational in a field that included 11 of the top 15 teams in the country. The ranking is the highest an individual has ever been ranked in UNLV history. UNLV has three other players ranked in the top 100 in Grace Woo (31st), Elena Kurokawa (53rd) and Seema Sadekar (95th).

The Rebels have won the last two Mountain West Conference championships under the guidance of head coach Missy Ringler and continue their season by hosting the UNLV Spring Invitational on March 13-15 at Black Mountain Country Club.
