UNLV vs. Iowa State Game Notes (9-9-06)

-UNLV fell to 0-4 all-time vs. Iowa State in losing its 10th straight road game dating back to 2004.

-The Rebels fell to 9-30 all-time in their first road games of the season, including seven straight such defeats.

-Junior DB Eric Wright returned the opening kickoff 54 yards, which marked the longest such return for a UNLV player since Dominique Dorsey's 59-yarder at Tennessee to open the 2004 season.

-Eric Wright picked off his first pass as a Rebel to thwart a long ISU drive in the first quarter. It was the junior transfer's third of his career after posting two interceptions at USC in 2004.

-Rebel starting QB Rocky Hinds left the game because of a knee injury in the second quarter with UNLV leading 3-0. Senior Shane Steichen came in and threw an interception on his first play. It was the first of the year thrown by UNLV. Hinds did not return.

-ISU RB Stevie Hicks turned in only the third 100-yard rushing game vs. UNLV in the last 17 Rebel games.

-The 16 points were the lowest the Rebels have allowed on the road since giving up only 12 points in a 16-12 win at in-state rival Nevada, Reno on Oct. 4, 2003.
