REBELS SET FOR FALL PREVIEW

UNLV continues its season at the 2006 Fall Preview in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Sept. 22-24. This is the first time that the Rebels have ever been invited to the prestigious tournament, which is hosted by Central Florida and is played at LPGA International's Legend Course. The field includes 17 teams ranked among the top 20 of the final 2006 Golfstat women's rankings, ensuring that the 2006 Golf Daytona Beach Women's Fall Preview will feature the strongest field of the golf season.

THE FIELD

Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Cal, Central Florida, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, UNLV, USC, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.

THE COURSE

The 54-hole event will be played at LPGA International's Legends Course, the home of the 2007 NCAA Division I Women's Golf National Championship scheduled for May 22-25, 2007. It is a

REBELS AT THE DICK McGUIRE

UNLV women's golf finished tied for second and three Rebels were in the top 20 at the 28th annual Dick McGuire Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon at the Championship Course. In a field that featured eight of the top 30 teams in the country according to Golfweek, the 18th-ranked Rebels shot an 883 (+7) to record their highest finish in five appearances at the tournament. UNLV was led by sophomore Da Sol Chung, who carded a 216 (-3) to finish tied for fifth. A pair of Rebel freshmen had strong debuts, as Natasha Krishna and Kristin Ingram both finished in the top 20. Krishna wrapped up her first collegiate tournament tied for 11th and Ingram finished tied for 18th.

REBEL RANKING

The UNLV women's golf team is currently ranked 16th in the country in Golfweek's latest rankings. The Rebels moved up two spots after opening the season ranked 18th in Golfweek's preseason poll.
