UNLV women's golf struggled in its first appearance at the Fall Preview, shooting a team score of 315 (+27) on a difficult scoring day at LPGA International's Legends Course on Friday.
In a field that features nine of the top 10 teams from last year and 17 of the top 20, No. 2 Georgia has the lead after the first round with a team total of 289 (+1) as four players finished in the top 10 individually. The Bulldogs are nine shots in front of Auburn (298, +10) while Tennessee (299, +10) rounds out the top three. Nicole Smith of the Volunteers has the individual lead after the opening 18 holes, carding a five-under 67. Jacqui Concolino of Vanderbilt shot a two-under 70 and is in second place while a group of three players is tied for third at one-under par.
Da Sol Chung and Natasha Krishna fired the best rounds of the afternoon for the 16th-ranked Rebels, both shooting a four-over 76 on the par-72 course that will also serve as host of the 2007 NCAA Women's Championships. They are tied for 27th overall.
Kasi Lee (78, +6) is tied for 48th, Kristin Ingram (85, +13) is tied for 81st and Seema Sadekar (86, +14) is tied for 85th to round out the Rebel scorecard.
