UNLV Holds Steady In Florida

UNLV women's golf remained in 16th place following Saturday's second round of the Fall Preview, being played at the LPGA International's Legends Course.

The 16th-ranked Rebels were nine strokes better during their second round on the par-72 course, firing a team total of 304 (+16) on the afternoon for a 36-hole score of 619 (+43). UNLV freshman Natasha Krishna is pacing the squad as she is tied for 29th with a two-day score of 150 (76-74, +6).

Georgia held onto the team lead despite being one of only two teams in the 18-team field that shot a higher score than Friday, as the second-ranked Bulldogs have a team total of 584 (289-295, +8) after 36 holes. Auburn (588, +12) is in second and defending national champion Duke (594, +18) is in third. Nicole Smith of Tennessee is still the individual leader, despite shooting a three-over 75 on Saturday after opening with a six-under 67 on Friday. Leah Wigger of Virginia (144, E) is in second and there are four golfers tied for third at one over.

Da Sol Chung is the next Rebel, sitting tied for 41st after firing a two round total of 152 (76-76, +6) on the same course that will host the 2007 NCAA Women's Championships. Kristin Ingram (85-77--162, +18) is tied for 79th, Seema Sadekar (86-77--163, +19) is tied for 82nd and Kasi Lee (78-86--164, +20) is in 85th to round out the Rebel scorecard.

The tournament concludes on Sunday with the final 18 holes getting underway at 5:00 a.m. (PDT) with a shotgun start. Fans can follow the tournament live by going to www.golfstatresults.com.
