UNLV women's golf finished 16th in its first appearance at the Fall Preview, shooting a team score of 923 (+59) on Sunday afternoon at LPGA International's Legends Course.
The 16th-ranked Rebels shot a final-round score of 304, matching their round from Saturday and they were led by Da Sol Chung, who came in tied for 40th with a three-round score of 227 (+11).
In a field that featured nine of the top 10 teams from last year and 17 of the top 20, No. 2 Georgia led from start to finish, winning the tournament with a team score of 869 (+5). The Bulldogs were nine shots ahead of No. 1 Duke (878, +14) while No. 3 UCLA (885, +21) rounded out the top three. Nicole Smith of Tennessee won medalist honors with a five-under par 211.
Chung shot a final-round 75 and the sophomore finished out of the top 20 in a tournament for the first time in her career, a streak of 12 starts for the All-American. Natasha Krishna (76-74-80--230, +14) finished Seema Sadekar (86-77-73--236, +20) finished tied for 71st. Sadekar's final-round 73 was the best round by a Rebel golfer at the tournament.
Kristin Ingram (85-77-76--238, +22) finished tied for 79th while Kasi Lee (78-86-84--248, +32) wrapped up tied for 86th to round out the Rebel scorecard.
UNLV's next tournament will be the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, held at the Sahalee Golf Club in Seattle, Wash., on Oct. 9-11.
