Coming off one of the lowest-scoring games in UNLV women's basketball history, the Lady Rebels hope to regain their touch on offense and remain in the top half of the MWC when they face BYU on Saturday afternoon in Provo. UNLV will also be looking to break a four-game losing streak to the Cougars, who are a perfect 3-0 in league play and have not lost at home this year through six games (as of Jan. 17). The game will tipoff at 1 pm (PST).

While UNLV held both its opponents to under 50 points last week, the Lady Rebels dropped a 49-37 contest to Utah on Saturday. Combined with a 51-46 win over Wyoming last Thursday, UNLV was held to just 88 points for the week, after averaging 75 points per game over the previous four contests. The key to a UNLV win this year has been how its offense plays. The numbers tell it all, as the Lady Rebels are a perfect 8-0 when they have a better field goal percentage then their opponent and 8-1 when they outrebound their opponent. They are also 5-0 when scoring 70 or more points.

It will be hard to stop the Cougars, who lead the league in field goal percentage at 43.4%, field goal defense at 35%, and rebound margin at +5.0. BYU will be facing a team, however, that features the league's top rebounder in the MWC in Faye Muller, who is also ranked ninth in the nation with 10.7 boards per game. UNLV is also near the top of the league in steals with 8.3 per game, thanks to Sequoia Holmes who averages a league-high 2.7 per game, while BYU is near the bottom of the conference in turnover margin at -2.62.
