OFF THE TEE: UNLV is the host of next week's Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, the first of two tournaments that the Rebels will host this year. No less than 18 teams will be on hand for the 54-hole event, which gets underway on Monday, Oct. 29, at Angel Park Golf Club. Monday's opening round and the second round on Tuesday will begin with teams teeing off of holes 1 and 10 at 7:30 a.m. (PT) and Wednesday's final round will be an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. Of the 18 teams in the field, nine squads are currently in the top 30 in Golfweek's latest poll. In the five-year history of the tournament, the host Rebels have won the event once, back in 2004. They were led by Hwanhee Lee, who took home medalist honors that year as well.
