LAS VEGAS - The No. 16 UNLV men's golf team will compete this week at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate in Birmingham, Ala., on Monday and Tuesday, October 8 and 9.
The tournament, which will be played at the Old Overton Golf Club (par 71), will have 54-holes played over two days - 36 holes (first and second rounds) on Monday and 18 holes (third/final round) on Tuesday.
The tournament is hosted by Alabama and includes Auburn, BYU, East Tennessee State, Florida, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, North Carolina, Texas, Texas Tech, UAB and UNLV.
Alabama won last year's Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate by seven shots at 33-under par, while the Crimson Tide's Joseph Sykora won medalist honors by two shots with a score of 14-under. UNLV did not compete in the event last year.
Competing at the event this week for UNLV will be Seung-Su Han, Jarred Texter, Ji Moon, Eddie Olson and Brandon Loska. UNLV is coming off its first tournament win of the season at the Shoot-out at Angel Park, which was played in Las Vegas, Sept. 29-30.
