Nov. 28, 2007

LAS VEGAS - UNLV freshman Therese Koelbaek has been selected the Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for November, the first league honor for Koelbaek.

Koelbaek, a Holte, Denmark, native, turned in the best performance of her career, winning the USF/Richmond Country Club Invitational at the beginning of November. She finished with a three-round total of two-over 215 (75-71-69) on the 5,955-yard, par-71 course in San Francisco, Calif. Koelbaek carded a two-under 69 on the final day of the tournament to earn medalist honors and finish first out of 49 total individuals. Her third-round 69, a personal season-low, currently ranks tied for first in the league with New Mexico's Jodi Ewart and UNLV's Alejandra Guacaneme.

The win marked the first medalist honors for Koelbaek this season. She currently leads UNLV and is second in the Mountain West Conference with a scoring average of 74.14.
