In the midst of a three-game conference losing streak, the UNLV women's basketball team will look to find their way on offense to help them pull off a victory over the host Utah Utes, as the two teams will tipoff on Thursday night in Salt Lake City at 6 pm (PST). UNLV will be looking for its first win since a 57-46 victory over Colorado State on Feb. 1, while Utah also has just one win in its last four games as well, a 64-49 defeat of the same CSU team this past Saturday.

The three-game losing streak for UNLV is its longest in MWC play since opening the 2004-05 season with three straight losses. Turnovers have been a key factor in the losses, as UNLV averaged 21.3 per game, including 28 in a loss to TCU and 24 in a loss at San Diego State. That negated UNLV's significant rebound advantage in both of those contests.

How UNLV attacks the boards on Thursday could be a key, as Utah currently leads the league with a +6.6 rebound margin. The Lady Rebels have three outstanding rebounders however in Faye Muller (20th in the nation with 10.2 rpg), Shamela Hampton and Sequoia Holmes, and if they can get enough offensive rebounds it will keep UNLV in the game.

Utah doesn't force a lot of turnovers and are last in the league at 6.5 steals per game. The Utes play strong team defense however, and that was on show in the last meeting, won by Utah 49-38. UNLV was held to just 19.6% shooting in the game and finished with just 10 made field goals.
