UNLV Starts Spring Season

UNLV women's golf started its spring season with 36-holes Monday at the Wildcat Invitational where the Rebels are tied for 10th heading into the final round at Arizona National.

The Rebels shot team scores of 300 (+16) and 311 (+27) to finished the day with an overall score of 611 (+43) on the par-71, 6,166-yard course. No. 2 Arizona State holds a commanding 11-stroke lead after the Sun Devils shot a 577 (+9) to lead No. 4 Duke (588, +20) and No. 16 USC (590, +22). It is a strong field with 11 of the 15 teams in the field currently ranked in Golfweek's latest rankings.

UNLV sophomore Da Sol Chung is pacing the Rebels, finishing the day tied for 14th with a two-round score of 148 (76-72, +6). She was joined in the top 30 by freshman Natasha Krishna who shot a 151 (74-77, +9), who is tied for 28th.

Seema Sadekar (74-80--154, +12) is tied 42nd, Melissa Mabanta (76-87--163, +21) is tied for 66th and Kasi Lee (84-82--166, +24) is in 75th to round out the Rebels with 18 holes to play. Nicole McGirr traveled with the Rebels for the first time and the sophomore played as an individual, recording a 176 (85-91, +34).
