LAS VEGAS - UNLV men's golfer Jarred Texter has been selected the Mountain West Conference Co-Men's Golfer of the Month for January/February. The other honoree for January/February is Colorado State's Aaron Weston.

Texter, a junior from Millersville, Pa., enjoyed consecutive top-10 finishes in the Jan. 29-30, PING Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson, Ariz., and at the Burns Intercollegiate in Hawaii. He led UNLV to its first team title of the season at the PING Arizona and a second-place finish at the Burns. He carded a total of seven-under 206 (64-72-70) on the 6,793-yard Arizona National Course to earn him a tie for fifth-place among 89 golfers at the PING Arizona, and posted a seven-under 209 (69-65-75) at the Burns Intercollegiate to tie for sixth on the 6,918-yard Leilehua Course. In the two tournaments, he recorded UNLV team season lows with his seven-under 64 and seven-under 65 rounds at the PING Arizona and Burns, respectively.

Texter has submitted a scoring average of 69.17 in the last two tournaments, while posting four rounds under par. He has a 70.72 scoring average on the season in 18 rounds and has notched five top-10 finishes, including two top-fives.

Weston, a senior from Denver, Colo., earned consecutive top-20 finishes this month with his performances in the Feb. 12-13, Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational in Utah and the Feb. 21-23, John Burns Intercollegiate in Hawaii. Weston defeated Duncan Stewart of Jacksonville in a playoff in the Thunderbird to capture his first collegiate individual title and lead the Rams to a fifth-place team finish on the 6,781-yard Sunbrook Course. Weston posted a 71 and then closed the tournament with an eight-under 64. The scores earned him the 135 tournament total and tied him with Stewart, sending the two into the playoff. Weston then recorded a birdie on the first hole to secure the victory. His second-round 64 is the second-lowest single round score in Colorado State history.

Weston finished in a tie for 13th with teammate Derrick Whiting in the Burns Intercollegiate, helping the Rams to another fifth-place finish. He shot rounds of 69-73-69 on the 6,918-yard Leilehua Course to contribute to Colorado State's sixth top-five team finish of the season. Weston was also named collegiate player of the week by Golf World and GolfWeek.com on Feb. 19.
