LAS VEGAS -

Queen Sirikit Cup

UNLV freshman Natasha Krishna is part of the New Zealand team that is currently competing in the 29th Queen Sirikit Cup for the Amateur Ladies Asia-Pacific Invitational Golf Team Championship in 2007, being played in the Philippines.

The Queen Sirikit Cup involves teams from 14 Asia-Pacific countries including Australia, China, Japan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and New Zealand. The first round of the tournament is slated to get underway on Wednesday with 18 holes, with the second round on Thursday and the final round Friday.

"We are extremely pleased and excited for Natasha. It is an honor to represent your country in anything and Natasha is looking forward to this event," UNLV head coach Missy Ringler said. "She is having a good freshman season with one win already in her first year. We are looking forward to making a good run toward the end of the season and Natasha will be an important part of what we do, not only this year but setting the tone for the future."

The New Zealand team will consist of Krishna, Dasom Lee and Penny Smith with Libby Steele serving as the team manager and New Zealand Golf president Patsy Hankins the delegate. The team departed for the Philippines this past Saturday and returns back to New Zealand on March 25.

Krishna and her Rebel teammates' next collegiate tournament is the Ping/ASU Invitational, March 30-April 1 in Tempe, Ariz.
