UNLV senior Seema Sadekar is tied for eighth following a round of three-under par on Saturday to lead the Rebel women golfers at the PING/ASU Invitational being played at Karsten Golf Course.
Sadekar, who opened with an even-par 72 on Friday, rolled in five birdies on her round against just two pars to post her 69 on the course and move into a tie for eighth. She had a string of three-straight birdies on the back nine, which she played first on Saturday, and is five shots behind the leaders.
Jennifer Osburn of Arizona State is leading the tournament individually with a 36-hole score of 136 (-8) after she carded a six-under 66 on the 6,230-yard course in Tempe. Behind the strong play of Osburn the Sun Devils have a commanding lead in the team chase with a total of 565 (-11), which is 16 strokes better than second-place Vanderbilt (581, +5).
As a team UNLV is in 11th place heading into Sunday's final round with a team score of 606 (300-306, +18).
Rebel freshman Natasha Krishna is tied for 20th with 18 holes remaining with a two-round score of 147 (+3) after she shot a three-over 75 on her round today. Nicole McGirr is tied for 59th with a score a 155 (77-78, +11). Melissa Mabanta (79-84--163, +19) is tied for 84th and Kasi Lee (83-86--169, +25) is in 90th.
