LAS VEGAS - PGA Professional Amy Bush has been hired as an assistant women's golf coach, head coach Missy Ringler announced on Thursday.
Although this is Bush's first collegiate coaching position, the Las Vegas native and PGA Professional brings a wealth of experience, both on and off the course, to UNLV. She will hit the ground running, as the Rebels host their annual UNLV Spring Invite, beginning March 12 at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
"I am extremely happy for this opportunity," Bush said. "I'm looking forward to working with Missy and the team and having a great spring season."
Bush has been a PGA member since 2001 and from 2005 until joining the Rebel program she was the Las Vegas Chapter PGA Coordinator. In 2006 Bush was named the Las Vegas PGA Professional of the Year.
"Amy will be a great asset to our program. Her experiences working within the PGA section has given her great contacts. She will bring so much to our team," Ringler said. "I am very happy she has decided to join our golf family."
Bush graduated from New Mexico State in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a specialization in professional golf management, and that program is sanctioned by the PGA. Bush is married to Matt Weigel.
